  •    ASK events kicked off in Rockford with the ASK Day 2006 press conference, featuring Mayor Morrissey, Police Deputy Chief Lindmark and our numerous local partners. This included the signing of our ASK bus and an ASK giveaway night at the River Hawks baseball game.
  • ASK partners in Rockford have mobilized to make ASK informational materials at numerous locations around the city, and many have sent  ASK materials home to participating parents.  You will find ASK material at:

    • Rockford Police Department
    • City of Rockford Head Start
    • Athletic events at Rockford Public Schools
    • Rockford Public Schools Title I

  •   Rockford ASK partners have successfully incorporated ASK into several exciting and educational local events
    • ASK was featured at Rockford Park Police’s Youth Police Academy
    • ASK materials were distributed at the Kids Safety Day at Blackhawk Court Public Housing by State Rep. Chuck Jefferson’s Office and the Rockford Police Department
    • The ASK banner was displayed and information and t-shirts were given out at the Rockford Police Department’s National Night Out
    • ASK materials were distributed both by the Rockford Police Department and the Rockford Park District Police at On the Waterfront.
    • YMCA of Rock River Valley continues to bring ASK to its events, including its School Age Children Registration and its 1 Mile Walk and Family Fun Day
    • The Athletic Department at Rockford Public Schools will continue to feature ASK materials at all home sporting events.

  •  Other Rockford Events!
    • The Rockford ASKs steering committee met for the first time on Wednesday, August 21.  The turn-out was terrific as local Rockford partners met with representatives from ASK’s New York staff to brainstorm and plan how to best bring the ASK message to Rockford.
  •  Upcoming Rockford Events
    • Rockford ASKs partners with newsletters have agreed to feature ASK in their upcoming newsletter.  The YMCA has already done this.  Look out for ASK in newsletters from the Winnebago County Health Department, Crusader Clinic, and Rockford Head Start in the upcoming months!
    • The Rockford ASKs website link is being featured on the websites of many of our local partners, and will continue to spread in the upcoming months!  Keep your eye out for the ASK logo.
